Il nuovo disco dei Delirio and the Phantoms “Strange Phenomena” esce nel 2026 per Black Widow Records. Si tratta del terzo album della band, dopo “The Cross” (2019, Black Widow Records) e “Platinum” (2023, Fuel Records - Self Distribuzione), ed è un concept incentrato sulla storia della Delirio Haunted House con oltre 500 anni di vita, laddove sono vissute persone che si sono distinte per i nobili principi etici ma che ha visto anche momenti dolorosi sino alla guerra così imponente e così devastante. Tra ritmi rock potenti e dalle tinte dark, momenti di sospensione onirica, che si alternano a parti più progressive, questo disco si sviluppa in una serie di episodi tutti diversi tra loro, eppure magicamente incastrati come in un incantesimo, quell’incantesimo generato dalla stessa Haunted House. All’interno dei testi si trovano citazioni, prese da alcuni scritti antichi, trovati presso questa stessa dimora, che narrano di alcuni personaggi storici vissuti qua e dei momenti in cui sono state costruite fisicamente le varie strutture che compongono il complesso architettonico insieme alla piccola chiesa realizzata in onore di colei, poi divenuta Santa, che visse presso gli antichi abitanti del luogo, addirittura antecedentemente nel 1200. Gli strani fenomeni, che spesso accadono, descritti nei vari testi, vengono sovente vissuti con ironia e in modo bizzarro, altre volte con afflizione. Certe cose ogni tanto possono cogliere alla sprovvista ma fa parte della vita di un luogo così particolare, che all’inizio si dimostrò inquietante ma che poi ha accolto di buon grado, avendo comunque la capacità ogni giorno di mettere sempre alla prova… e che sembra destinato all’eternità. Spectre, Dynasty, Angel Door, Destined for Eternity, Haunted House, Strange Phenomena, War, Claire Moon, ecc ma anche i vari strumentali come Omen, Ceremony e Butterfly, raccolgono le sensazioni e le atmosfere che si respirano qua. Il disco vuole essere un concept proprio suggerito dalla mente del discografico Massimo Gasperini e che ha trovato nella stesura delle varie canzoni scritte da Freddy e Chris, ideate in moltissimi casi dai particolarissimi riff di tastiera di Chris Delirio poi alla batteria e altri strumenti, e sviluppate da Freddy Delirio con la stesura dei brani completi alla voce e alle tastiere, in questo viaggio come se il tempo fosse davvero sospeso tra il passato e il presente: una antichità che si attualizza ogni giorno, manifestandosi. Tutto si è sviluppato in modo naturale respirando l’aria di questo luogo, dove spesso, anche durante le prove in studio o appena fuori in mezzo alla natura a prendere una boccata d’aria, viene spesso citato il fatto di sentirsi osservati.
Il brano Radioactivity presente come bonus track sul CD e nell’uscita digitale, è una cover che rappresenta un doveroso riconoscimento alla band tedesca Kraftwerk, pionieristica nelle sonorità e nel concetto di elettronica, veramente all’avanguardia e senza tempo con questo capolavoro assoluto che ha compiuto da poco i 50 anni e che i Delirio and the Phantoms hanno voluto omaggiare. Si parla concettualmente di radiazioni invisibili eppure cosi potenti, come certe volte sono i motivi, chissà, in grado di generare gli “strani fenomeni” e le reazioni a catena che ne conseguono.

Delirio and the Phantoms' new album, "Strange Phenomena," will be released in 2026 via Black Widow Records. It's the band's third album, following "The Cross" (2019, Black Widow Records) and "Platinum" (2023, Fuel Records - Self Distribuzione), and is a concept album centered on the history of the Delirio Haunted House, over 500 years old, home to people distinguished by noble ethical principles, but also witnessed painful moments, right up to the massive and devastating war. Between powerful, dark-tinged rock rhythms and moments of dreamlike suspension, alternating with more progressive sections, this album unfolds in a series of episodes, each different from the other, yet magically intertwined as if by a spell, a spell cast by the Haunted House itself.
The texts contain quotations from ancient writings found near this very dwelling, which tell of historical figures who lived here and the times when the various structures that comprise the architectural complex were physically built, along with the small church built in honor of the woman who later became a saint, who lived among the ancient inhabitants of the place, even before 1200. The strange phenomena that often occur, described in the various texts, are often experienced with irony and bizarreness, other times with affliction. Certain things can occasionally catch one off guard, but that's part of life in such a unique place, which initially proved disturbing but then welcomed, nevertheless possessing the capacity to challenge one every day… and which seems destined for eternity. Spectre, Dynasty, Angel Door, Destined for Eternity, Haunted House, Strange Phenomena, War, Claire Moon, etc., as well as various instrumentals like Omen, Ceremony, and Butterfly, capture the sensations and atmospheres that permeate this space. The album aims to be a concept inspired by the mind of record producer Massimo Gasperini, which he found in the composition of the various songs written by Freddy and Chris, conceived in many cases by Chris Delirio's unique keyboard riffs, then on drums and other instruments, and developed by Freddy Delirio as he wrote the complete songs on vocals and keyboards. In this journey, it's as if time were truly suspended between past and present: an antiquity that is actualized every day, manifesting itself. Everything developed naturally, breathing the air of this place, where often, even during rehearsals in the studio or just outside in the middle of nature for a breath of fresh air, the feeling of being observed is often mentioned.
The song "Radioactivity," featured as a bonus track on the CD and digital release, is a cover that represents a well-deserved tribute to the German band Kraftwerk, pioneers in the sound and concept of electronic music. This truly avant-garde and timeless masterpiece, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, is something Delirio and the Phantoms wanted to pay homage to. The concept speaks of invisible yet powerful radiation, perhaps like the motifs that sometimes generate "strange phenomena" and the resulting chain reactions.
