BWR164 GLEEMEN - Oltre.. Lontano lontano Lp / Cd

We are in 1970: the progressive is not yet born, and the experience of the beat is setting. You can not expect too much yet! Should be limited for the moment to smell those few groups who proposed an evolutionary discourse compared to the late -beat tape that, in that year, was about to give way to the long wave of progressive. The Beatles broke up, and in a short time, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Janis Jaoplin die. Need to pursue new musical goals, reinvent, create a opposition sound that refreshments spirit, creativity and communication, perhaps inspired by the belief in all that rock giants have left us ... even at the risk of appearing not particularly original ... This is what happens to Gleemen of Bambi Fossati in their eponymous album, we are in Genoa in 1970 and the desire to experience new horizons is taking shape. Should be given a high level of value to the only album recorded by the group: it 's true that references to Hendrix were obvious , but it is true that Bambi Fossati had a touch of his own that allowed him to give back the magic with great technical style and sensibility. Thus, in "Gleemen" the band propose a condensed spectacular and never monotonous between past and future: from the lysergic beat of "Farfalle senza pois " and "Dei o confusione", to the psychedelic-freak atmophres of “Shilaila”, revitalizing the spirit of Hendrix in disruptive “Spirit” and “Chi sei tu uomo”. In "Introduzione 1 & 2" the Gleemen offer the best of new and dynamic atmospheres although still too payroll to the teacher Jimi. Closes all the improvised "Divertimento”, a song so cross to be considered, despite its brevity, a small island avant-garde . Today in 2013, more than forty years after the onset, the Gleemen back with a new album absolutely amazing for freshness and vitality: the title is “Oltre…lontano, lontano” and on the cover retains the shape of the fish as a threat of power against which the culture must always fight. Although times have changed this struggle is evident in the design created for the new cover by the same author as that of the first album as a sign of continuity in the discourse of the group. The album presents a variety of reasons of great interest because besides the beauty of the compositions we have the presence of Bambi Fossati on 2 tracks, where he gives the best of himself expresses on incredible levels, there is the presence of Marco Zoccheddu (Osage Tribe, Duello Madre), there are obviously Maurizio Cassinelli and Angelo Traverso, two of the founder members, along with some talented young musicians who will be a pleasure to discover in listening to this album that is already part of history.
