Nei primi anni del ‘70 cominciava l’avventura di uno dei più famosi gruppi dei Castelli Romani, a pochi passi da Roma (Italia). Le armoniose melodie del rock progressive e le magiche storie incantate si intrecciavano con le canzoni melodiche della musica leggera.
I Sigmund Freud nacquero durante una splendida estate del 1972. Immediatamente si ispirarono al rock progressive del momento e cosi nacquero brani di una musicalità originale, personale e viva. Una fusione armonica dove ciascuno aveva una parte da svolgere usando quello che aveva: il suo strumento. Pochi effetti, tanta musica. Le immagini delle parole si intersecavano con i colori della musica creando armonie e giochi fantastici dei protagonisti in storie metafisiche, quasi surreali. Fino al 1978 parteciparono a moltissimi concerti e raduni rock che si tenevano nella capitale, nell’hinterland romano e in numerose piazze italiane. Ovunque ricevevano calorosi consensi ed apprezzamenti per la loro musica. - È difficile descrivere la musica dei Sigmund Freud, bisogna ascoltarla -. Tanti bellissimi ricordi a Villa Ada, Villa Pamphili, Conca d’Oro, tanto per citarne alcuni.
- Nel 1975 abbiamo registrato per due etichette, la RCA e la EMI, ma non fu possibile, per motivi interni, arrivare alla realizzazione di un album-.
Oggi, con la collaborazione dell’etichetta discografica BLACK WIDOW RECORDS di Genova – Italia, dopo un re-mastering dei brani composti e registrati in quegli anni, mantenendone l’originalità e il sapore degli anni ’70, presenteranno, durante il prossimo Music Day, l’uscita del primo CD e LP del gruppo.
I brani sono gli stessi che hanno scritto e suonato in quegli anni, piccoli ritocchi agli arrangiamenti, suoni vintage e molto Hammond, Mini Moog e Mellotron.
I Sigmund Freud nel 2025 inizieranno un tour in Italia ed Europa. – Siamo orgogliosi di far ascoltare qualcosa di “nuovo” che vada ben oltre le tantissime cover che tanti artisti propongono normalmente. Abbiamo una grande voglia di suonare, la musica è vita -. - Non sarà solo un concerto musicale ma l’incontro di varie arti come teatro, danza e tante altre sorprese, vogliamo dare al pubblico uno spettacolo multiforme che lo coinvolga dall’inizio alla fine dell’ultima nota -.
Ecco una piccola sinossi dei brani: Fiori di Polvere Bianca è l’incontro di un giovane con la droga, il labirinto di una inutile libertà. Palla di Neve è la storia di quanti subiscono violenza, la sopraffazione del forte sul debole. Palla di Neve è il povero schiavo che viene deportato in America a piantar cotone, venduto all’asta come un quadro e disprezzato, bastonato, il tutto sotto uno stesso cielo, uno stesso Dio. E qui il rispetto civile tra tutti e con tutti. Giochi d’Ombre è una dolcissima canzone. Una sequenza di immagini a cui non possiamo non riconoscerci. La nostra giovinezza volta al cercare mondi inesistenti, collocazioni familiari e genitori diversi da quelli che ci hanno generato. Epilogo è l’isola in cui vivere soli o con la propria donna e arrivare poi a rendersi conto che tutto quello di cui avevamo bisogno era a due passi. L’avevamo sempre avuto vicino, non lo vedevamo o non volevamo vederlo? L’abbattere ogni comunicazione con il mondo esterno, a loro dire, avrebbe risolto i problemi o le aspettative, invece l’infinito non è percorribile ed il miracolo viene distrutto, frantumato da quei sogni che inutilmente erano stati creati. La Quiete dopo la Tempesta è l’esplosione, il grido di uscire dal guscio, imparare a farsi largo tra la società cercando la strada giusta e rispettando il prossimo.
Inoltre il gruppo presenterà alcuni brani che faranno parte del prossimo lavoro come: Nel Giardino della Fantasia quasi una lettera alla propria amata, forse le parole che non ha mai avuto il coraggio di dirle; Le Ali del Vento un brano dedicato alle persone con disabilità ma felici di essere nate; Ballata è un viaggio tra Castelli incantati, Re e Regine con i menestrelli che cantano le loro gesta; poi Pendragon la storia di regnanti che si cimentano a cacciare una povera volpe, La Casa dei Sogni, un viaggio tra la realtà e la fantasia e La Carrozza del Duca.
– Abbiamo voluto riproporre i brani come li suonavamo negli anni ’70, per cogliere e dare le stesse sensazioni che ci hanno ispirato nel comporli-.
Questa è l’avventura odierna dei Sigmund Freud, è l’inizio di una fase in cui l’età non ha barriere, quindi non resta altro che andarli a sentire e con loro fare un viaggio nel tempo con la magia che solo la musica può dare.
